More and more children are living in the inner city, but there is no public high school. Census data shows this trend is increasing and there will be more students in future.

The nearest public high schools for students in the Sydney electorate are full or nearly full: Rose Bay, Blackwattle Balmain, and Newtown Performing Arts High Schools.

Sydney electorate students attending these schools or the Alexandria Park Community School have to change buses in the CBD and may spend more than an hour each way travelling to school.
