Monitoring Air

Monitoring Air

I have been asking for an air quality monitoring station in the inner city since I was elected. The closest station is in Randwick which is too far to pick up air pollution from the heavily trafficked city centre. In response to my most recent questions in Parliament, the Minister for the Environment says that the government will now install an air quality monitoring site in the CBD. The previous CBD station linked to the Cross City Tunnel was removed some years ago.

While monitoring won’t prevent pollution, it can help identify progress in reducing pollutants, particularly from motor vehicles. My questions are HERE.

Make a submission calling for power stations to use readily-available pollution controls that reduce toxic emissions 85-95 per cent HERE and sign the Greenpeace clean air campaign petition HERE.

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
