Twenty Eight Millers Point Properties Saved - More Needed

15 November 2015

Alex Greenwich, the Independent Member for Sydney, has welcomed the Government's plan to save 28 properties in Millers Point for existing social housing residents, and has urged the government to differ the sale of additional properties in Millers Point, Dawes Point and the Rocks.

Mr Greenwich said:

“I thank Minister Hazzard for the time he has spent working with me and the residents to understand the importance of retaining some social housing in Millers Point. The community campaign to save millers point has proven how strong this community is and this campaign will continue”

“The Minister’s approach has been one of compassion, but more properties are needed to ensure the most vulnerable tenants can age-in-place in their community.”

“In addition to the 28 properties differed from the sales process, there are a number of other low value and non-heritage properties in Millers Point that should also be excluded from the sales process to ensure more residents can stay in the historic community that they have built”

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
