16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence
Monday 25 November marked the beginning of the global movement: 16 days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. This year’s UN theme is #NoExcuse. Every 10 minutes, a woman is killed by a partner, former partner or family member.
16 Days of Activism aims to end impunity by holding perpetrators accountable and establishing zero tolerance of violence against women and girls. The campaign includes National Action Plans to end violence against women and girls and is calling for investment in prevention and essential services for survivors. Gendered violence can and must be prevented.
