Behind Closed Casino Doors, Schools Progress, Housing Motion Passed, Planning Review

The NSW Government the Government has engaged the casino industry but totally shut out the community from decisions about casino gambling expansion. See my opinion piece HERE.

The Minister for Education has committed to a review to allow greater local access in selective high schools, and I’ve asked for a trial at Sydney Boys High. See the report HERE.

Last week I met with Darlinghurst parents looking at the Department of Education’s proposal to change school boundaries – Sydney Secondary College is full and more students will have to attend Alexandria Park (see photograph).

The Planning Review White Paper and draft bill puts development ahead of sustainability, heritage and community. My submission calls for major changes to the proposal, see HERE

The Legislative Assembly passed my motion noting the vital role of social housing and calling for investment in needed repairs and maintenance. See the speeches HERE.
