Barangaroo Noise
Monday 27 March 2017
Construction at Barangaroo has intruded on adjacent residents’ peaceful enjoyment over their homes over many years and now noisy night works are planned for the next five months, including for buildings that have not yet received planning approval. Large numbers of residents will be affected and I’ve asked the planning minister to require Lendlease to adhere to standard work hours. My letter: www.alexgreenwich.com/barangaroo_south_construction
Residents living adjacent to major projects need sleep and should be protected from intrusive late night noise. I’m lodging more questions in Parliament for better noise controls on construction, transport and road works, as well as gas, electricity and telecommunications projects that RMS requires to be carried out at night. Traffic flow should not get priority over being able to sleep.
