Blackwattle Bay Development

Redevelopment of the Sydney Fish Market land after it moves to a new site should create a world-class precinct worthy of its iconic location and our global city status, but Infrastructure NSW’s draft plan is all about squeezing as many apartments as possible on the land to maximise profit.

The proposal would result in a narrow foreshore, new homes impacted by noise and fumes from Anzac Bridge, wind-affected streets and existing homes overshadowed.

The City of Sydney’s design review reconfigures the draft plan to resolve these issues through a better mix of commercial property, lining this up with the region’s multiple planning studies. The City’s plan also includes a sunlit harbour park.

In response to my question in Parliament, the Minister for Infrastructure agreed to direct Infrastructure NSW to use the review in its revision of the plans > HERE.

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
