I commend the ABC Four Corners program about building defects, which details the failure of successive governments to protect apartment owners, who have invested much of their savings into their home. You can view the program at HERE

The new NSW Building Commissioner started on 14 August, and will establish recommendations to protect home owners from defects. The extent of the role is unclear and I hope it will provide much needed oversight and enforcement of the industry and support for owners and residents. I encourage you to report buildings with serious defect problems to the commissioner at HERE
