An increasing number of small business operators have been contacting me concerned that their business may not survive ongoing restrictions and pandemic impacts, as federal income support payments and emergency provisions for loans and leases are scaled back, particularly in the CBD and in hospitality, tourism, retail and the arts. I’ve asked the Treasurer to protect lessees and landlords in commercial leases where businesses cannot continue: HERE.
