The draft Sydney City Centre Capacity Improvement Plan takes a retrograde approach to traffic congestion by removing pedestrian crossings, footpath space, parking and kerb extensions to create more space for traffic in the CBD. My submission argued that the draft plan contradicts the government’s own Sydney City Centre Access Strategy which aims to give priority to pedestrians, cyclist and public transport, and I called for it to be withdrawn.
