City of Sydney Water Saving Initiative

City of Sydney Water Saving Initiative

In an Australian-first initiative, Sydney’s streets will be kept clean with recycled water. Purified water from 50 kidney dialysis machines at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPA) is now collected and stored in two on-site tanks for use in street cleaning. This will save up to 1.5 million litres of water every year. With the impact of climate change and predictions of more droughts, our water is a precious resource. I congratulate the City of Sydney and RPA on this smart collaboration.
