Climate Change Action

Climate Change Action

In Parliament, I submitted a motion to debate the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5 Degrees. The report shows that current global efforts will result in dangerous warming of two to four degrees Celsius by 2100, which will have drastic impacts on human civilization from extreme weather, sea level rises and loss of species. The IPCC recommends far-reaching, rapid and unprecedented pathways in all aspects of society to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees by reducing human caused carbon emissions by 45 per cent from 2010 levels by 2030, to reaching zero net emissions by 2050.

My motion calls for NSW to urgently increase forestation, transition energy from coal fired power to low emission sources, and introduce transport and agriculture reforms.

My motion: HERE

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
