I’ve followed up again about work to restore the unsafe pedestrian Cutler Footway attached to the Burton Street bridge, which has been closed since 2016.

Work on the roadway underneath and drainage is done, but replacing the footway is a complex job that has presented a number of planning and heritage challenges. Tenders have closed; construction is due to start by the end of the year and expected to be finished by the end of 2019. The design will put a new concrete slab on the bridge to include the new footway. One lane of the road will be closed during construction.
