I opposed legislation to allow broadscale land clearing and the evidence shows massive deforestation even before the laws came into effect. In three years, habitat destruction has risen by 800 per cent, with an area 25 times the size of the Sydney CBD bulldozed in just one year and koala numbers dropping by more than a quarter over 20 years.
