New boundaries will apply for the 2023 NSW election, set by the independent Redistribution Panel to ensure even population numbers in each electorate and keep communities of interest together > HERE.
The Sydney electorate will then include the whole of Surry Hills reunited. Currently about half of Surry Hills is in the seat of Newtown. The Sydney electorate will also include Centennial Park and Moore Park currently in Heffron. I have previously represented these areas and look forward to working with these communities. The new boundary map > HERE.
The Sydney electorate loses its current small sections of Edgecliff and Woollahra to the Vaucluse electorate. It is always sad to lose some constituents to another electorate when you’ve worked with them on local issues over a number of years.
