Last week I appeared before the community services committee to discuss my LGBTIQA+ Equality Bill as part of the inquiry into the bill. I spoke of the importance of removing stigma and discrimination in law for the health and wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ people.

Legal centres, human rights organisations, outreach services, health services and parents’ organisations did a fantastic job dispelling the misinformation raised by some witnesses who want the status quo including allowing private schools to fire LGBTIQA+ teachers and expel LGBTIQA+ students.
