Federal Election

Federal Election

Many people who have contacted me were shocked with the federal election result and concerned about what it means for meaningful action on climate change. The Coalition won the federal election on jobs, economic stability and the future, yet failed to deliver a clear vision for the environment or action on climate change. Labor and The Greens were strong on the environment and action on climate change, but didn’t deliver the message of how this can create jobs, boost the economy, and save our nation’s future.

Action on climate change is not only vital for our environment it is critically important for our economy. My op-ed for Junkee urges people to shift the focus from ideology to opportunity and engage with people who voted differently. Read it here: HERE

Congratulations to the re-elected federal Member for Sydney Tanya Plibersek and new Member for Wentworth Dave Sharma, I look forward to working with them for our shared constituents. Thank you to Kerryn Phelps, the former member for Wentworth, for her passionate advocacy for her community and their concerns.

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
