The response from some in the media and government to the screening of the documentary Gayby Baby was disappointing and undermines attempts at building acceptance and inclusion. Sadly most of those commenting have not even seen the film, which follows four young people living in same-sex parent families. The newly formed LGBTI Parliamentary Friendship Group, of which I am a founding member, hosted a screening of the film in NSW Parliament House.
