Glebe Island Concrete

Glebe Island Concrete

The Independent Planning Commission has approved the Hanson concrete plant on Glebe Island, with some restrictions in response to community concerns, with consent only until 2040, a lower building and ship delivery hours reduced to largely between 6am and 10pm.

Conditions require the operators to minimise light pollution, use best practice noise mitigation and have a 24 complaints line. They will set up a Community Consultative Committee including representatives from Jacksons Landing Action Group, Jacksons Landing Coalition, Pyrmont Action Group and the Bays Community Coalition, with a communication plan to keep adjacent communities informed. Ships will have to use low sulphur fuel or have exhaust cleaning systems. Details> HERE

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
