The NSW Government has doubled the votes of big businesses and corporations in City of Sydney council elections. The Shooters and Fishers Party modelled its bill on City of Melbourne voting rules which were condemned by a Victorian Government review as unfair. The government blocked my amendments to reduce business votes back to one and ensure the independent Electoral Commissioner manages elections. Big business should not have more influence on decision makers than residents and I will work to have these laws repealed.
