I oppose the government’s decision to allocate $500,000 to ‘The Million Dollar Chase’ – a major new greyhound race. In Parliament, I supported the bill to shut down this cruel gambling industry and remain convinced that the only way to end the cruelty is to stop racing. While I opposed legislation to allow the industry to continue, albeit with better regulation and enforcement of standards, government and opposition both supported the bill so it is now law.
