The head of an inquiry into the greyhound racing industry in New South Wales two years ago has called for the state's governing body to be stripped of some of its powers...

...Independent MP Alex Greenwich said the State Government should at the least suspend the greyhound industry, but his preference would be to shut it down altogether.

"We've obviously seen the revelations on Four Corners, but we also know this is an industry which engages in the overbreeding of greyhounds, with thousands of greyhounds euthanised every year," he said.
