Reports of cruelty in the greyhound racing industry have not stopped despite government promises to clean up the industry after it back-flipped on its plan to ban racing. The government is now considering a draft code of practice that would see greyhounds kept in tiny spaces 24 hours a day with little room to move and no requirement for exercise. New kennel standards would not be compulsory for another 10 years. If the draft code goes ahead, it will sanction suffering and I’ve asked for better standards: HERE.
