The Land and Environment Court has approved the Hakoah Club’s amended development proposal for the former White City site.

There were community concerns about construction impacts as well as public access to the facility, noise, loss of trees and late hours of operation seven days a week.

The sports, cultural and community facility will have two heated pools, nine tennis courts run by Maccabi Tennis, a football field, fitness and ‘wellness’ centre, and multi-use courts. There will be spaces for school and community events, cultural activities, meetings and functions, and food and beverage venues. Media reports state that club members will have to invite non-members to join to use the facilities, but fees will be low.
