Hanson Concrete Submission

Hanson Concrete Submission

Monday 7 May 2018

I opposed plans for a 24 hour 7 days a week concrete batching plant on Glebe Island.

Like the multi-user facility proposed next door, it represents an unacceptable intensification of port activities that will erode residential amenity for Pyrmont residents opposite. All-night shipping should not be permitted at ports in densely populated areas until shore to ship power can be used.

My submission asked for air quality monitors at residential receivers and for the department to verify all claimed figures and predictions on air and noise. I slammed the dubious claims made that impacts of adding hundreds of trucks to the already congested road network would be minimal.

My submission is HERE. You can object until 15 May HERE.
