Homelessness Shamefully Up Again

Homelessness Shamefully Up Again

The latest street count showed a 13 per cent increase in people sleeping rough in the City of Sydney. We counted 373 people sleeping rough and there were another 522 people in homeless hostel beds or temporary accommodation. Crisis accommodation was close to capacity. The government has done a number of operations to help get rough sleepers into accommodation, but this snapshot confirms we need to do more including to provide permanent and supported homes.
