Intersex Voice
In Parliament, I commended the work of Intersex Human Rights Australia (IHRA) and Intersex Peer Support Australia raising awareness and promoting human rights and bodily autonomy of people born with variations of sex characteristics. This year on Intersex Awareness Day, IHRA launched a magazine of stories, poems and art by young people with intersex variations, with a grant from the ACT Capital of Equality program. I support their vision of a society where intersex bodies are not stigmatised and people are not excluded or made to feel ashamed for being different and thank the committed people involved.
