Justice Advocacy
Specialised support is vital for people with cognitive disabilities to navigate the justice system and I support funding for the Intellectual Disability Rights Service’s Justice Advocacy Service that provides an advocate for people with intellectual disability, dementia, acquired brain injury, drug or alcohol related brain damage and autism spectrum disorder as victims, witnesses or suspects/defendants.
The Government has announced a welcome $20 million four-year funding extension for the program.
