My advocacy helped secure funding for a dedicated ACON LBGTIQ+ Health Centre and for the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras bid to host World Pride 2023 - a celebration of the World’s LGBTIQ+ community that brings thousands of extra tourists.

The interim report of the Parliamentary Inquiry Gay and Transgender hate crimes between 1970 and 2010 confirms that police and the community were indifferent to and failed to respond to hate crimes against gay men until recently. This means justice was not served for those killed and injured. The committee recommended that NSW Police ensure all officers have skills in dealing with LGBTIQ people respectfully and equally. The committee wants the inquiry re-established in the next Parliament to continue investigation. The report: HERE
