Liquor Update

Liquor Update

You can comment until Sunday 14 June on draft proposals for the draft Liquor Amendment (24- hour Economy) Bill, responding to the NSW Parliament Joint Select Committee’s report on Sydney’s night time economy. Proposals include incentives for well-run venues and penalties for badly-run venues, rather than blunt responses like precinct-wide lockouts, along with a system of cumulative impact assessment based on evidence to manage density of licensed premises.

There are new measures to support live music and small bars, reduced ‘red tape’ and stronger regulation of same day alcohol delivery. The proposal includes a reduced role for Liquor and Gaming in dealing with noise complaints. Details: HERE

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
