After delivering a collection of letters from women who visit the Lou’s Place day refuge in Potts Point to the Premier last year, she agreed to join me to visit the refuge and hear from the women directly. Many have challenges from trauma, violence, addiction and mental health and this can result in homelessness or significant risk of homelessness. The women and workers shared their struggles with the Premier and offered policy and practical solutions. I will continue to push for support for women escaping domestic violence especially to ensure they can access safe and stable permanent housing. To support Lou’s Place: HERE
