Moore Park Concerts

Moore Park Concerts

The government announced plans to lift the longstanding cap of four concerts a year at the Moore Park stadium to 20 a year.

The announcement cynically pitched concerns from locals as “NIMBYism” in what can only be seen as an attempt to deflect government responsibility to address legitimate problems with traffic management in the precinct during events. Traffic surrounding the stadiums during matches and concerts is often at a standstill, with residents and emergency services unable to access homes by road. I continue to push for a comprehensive traffic management plan that better promotes public transport and provides appropriate space for pick-up and drop-off.

Venues NSW will need to apply for approval for the change and when the proposal is on exhibition, it will be important that affected communities make submissions to protect amenity.

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
