In response to repeated media reports that Moore Park would be handed over to sporting trusts for more large stadia, I moved a motion in Parliament to protect Moore Park from further commercialisation, development or encroachment. I was pleased that members for Heffron, Coogee, Newtown, Balmain and Vaucluse all spoke in support of protecting this vital open green space.
 
The amended motion acknowledges the significance of Moore Park, notes a master plan is being developed and called for Moore Park to remain under the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust.
