I have been elected Deputy Chair of the Joint Select Committee on Sydney's night time economy. The committee will inquire into and make recommendations to improve Sydney as a night time destination. Our terms of reference cover health and safety, vibrancy and regulation of venues. I don’t believe we have the balance right, with the lockout laws having crippled the inner city at night, closing venues and reducing opportunities for artists and I look forward to establishing solutions.
