I am increasingly hearing stories of rampant overcrowding and short term letting in larger strata buildings particularly in the CBD. Councils are limited in preventing this illegal practice because officers can be refused access to units to collect evidence needed in court. It is not clear whether strata law changes expected next year will address this problem and I’ve called on the Premier to act urgently.
