On behalf of the Sydney electorate I commend the work of the Parents and Carers of Kings Cross, a community initiative to connect local families of the 2011 precinct.

The group is spearheaded by Claudia Bowman, who is present today in the gallery. The precinct encompasses families from one of the most densely populated areas in Australia. The demographic has changed greatly in the past five years and includes a number of dynamic young families, with whom the group seeks to connect. The group welcomes with open arms all parents, carers and community members and invites them to contribute on a regular basis. On Mondays the group hosts Junior Jivers at the Wayside Chapel, and I encourage all members to come along and do the hokey-pokey with the Junior Jivers. Today Claudia Bowman from the Parents and Carers of Kings Cross is welcoming Kirsten Vanhentenrijk to Sydney, and I will be joining both of them for lunch.
