Parliament Not Sitting

While the Legislative Council could sit this week through electronic means, there are currently no provisions for the Legislative Assembly to convene electronically.

The government has deferred Parliament sitting and it is not clear when we will go back. Without parliament sitting, members have limited opportunities to question ministers and hold the government to account. Our democracy is underpinned by the oversight and representation provided through the forum of Parliament and together with my independents colleagues I have called on the government to urgently establish a way for the Legislative Assembly to meet safely. Democracy is essential work that ensures a healthy society.

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
