Pitt St Metro

Pitt St Metro

The government is using the Sydney Metro project as an excuse to overdevelop land and air above planned stations. Earlier this year it gave Sydney Metro special developer status and approved non-compliant towers above the Martin Place station. Now it is seeking planning approval for two towers over the Pitt Street station. The towers will introduce significant shadowing from Autumn to Spring on Hyde Park in breach of the LEP sun access plane designed to stop shadow creep on this important public park from future CBD towers. Alarmingly over a hundred homes in adjacent buildings will lose almost all their winter sunlight. This is a disgrace.

Sydney Metro should respect good planning principles and be a good neighbour. I’ve objected to the proposals and encourage you to also make a submission and sign my petition. Pitt Street south submission is HERE and Pitt Street north submission is HERE. My petition is HERE. Information HERE and HERE.

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
