Planning and Public Open Space

Planning reform is needed because over a decade of ad hoc changes have stripped heritage and environment protections and people’s say in shaping their neighbourhood, while handing planning decisions to unelected people.  Climate change and population growth require strong planning controls to ensure new areas are liveable and environmentally sustainable.  I continue to campaign against the alienation and encroachment of the Centennial Parklands, and push for better funding for the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust, so this important open space is protected in line with Macquarie’s 1811 Sydney Common Bequest.
