While I welcome plans to retain the Powerhouse in Ultimo, my submission on the new concept plan for the site opposes overdevelopment that would see heritage buildings obscured, open space developed and a wall of development along Harris Street.  

The museum should not turn its back on Ultimo which is the city’s creative and innovation hub, leader in digital start-ups and a part of the government’s innovation corridor, providing important links with the museum’s core science, technology and design purposes.

My submission also calls for retention and appropriate reinterpretation of all heritage items at the museum and of the Wran Building > HERE.
