Infrastructure NSW has plans for the Powerhouse Ultimo revitalisation on public exhibition for comment. It includes retention and adaptive reuse of State Heritage such as the Boulton and Watt Steam Engine, Catalina and Locomotive No.1 and the Wran Building. It involves re-orienting the entrance to the Goods Line, plus reinstating larger exhibition spaces in the Boiler Hall and Turbine Hall. There’s a new extension in the south west corner of the site, and courtyard park linked to the former post office as well as the Gathering Terrace, a public accessible open sky space facing the Goods Line.
