I support the Justice Reform Initiative’s campaign for alternatives to incarceration. Over-incarceration is harmful and costly and has no safety benefits.

We should be redirecting offenders from prison to support services. In Parliament I submitted questions to the minister about expanding the successful Maranguka Justice Reinvestment in Bourke that has dramatically reduced bail breaches and days spent in custody > HERE and the South Australian Work Ready Release Ready program that helps prisoners get job qualifications and jobs after release > HERE
