Pyrmont Planning

Pyrmont Planning

Earlier in Parliament I asked the government to give the local community input and deliver social infrastructure, public transport, and social and affordable housing through its planned changes to Pyrmont’s planning framework. Last year the Greater Sydney Commission recommended a new place strategy for Pyrmont including a master plan and economic strategy. The government has set up a steering committee to develop a Pyrmont Place Strategy and has released “directions” for public comment: HERE

The minister promised to ensure consultation throughout the process and that new plans would promote “social and environmental opportunities”. While he acknowledged Pyrmont is already densely populated, I remain concerned that overdevelopment could be driving this process. The minister said he would keep me informed about advancements and I will continue to monitor the situation and push for good planning outcomes. My question: HERE

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
