(1) What programs does the Government have to decarbonise health services in New South Wales?

(2) What steps have been taken to power health care services by zero emissions electricity?

(3) How has the Government ensured that health service buildings promote energy efficiency, zero emissions, and climate resilience?

(4) Does the Government require all new health service fleet vehicles to be low or zero emission operations?

(5) What programs does the Government use to procure supplies, deploy clean technologies, reduce the volume and toxicity of health care waste and manage waste sustainably?

(6) What further action will the Government take to decarbonise health services in New South Wales?

Answer -

Information on programs, actions and the purchase of low emission fleet vehicles to reduce carbon emissions in health facilities is contained in the Government Resource Efficiency Policy and the NSW Net Zero Interim Plan Stage 1 2020-2030 available on the Department of Planning Industry and Environment website. Information on the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap is available on the Energy NSW website and the Government Resource Efficiency Policy and the Government Waste and Recycled Materials Strategy 2041 are also available on the Department of Planning Industry and Environment website.

NSW Health is committed to NSW Government Policy directions and is continually improving the environmental performance of Health assets and services to meet the Government’s net zero emissions by 2050 target.
