Answer -
BAYS PRECINCT FERRY

I am advised:

(1) Transport for NSW considers the viability of the service on an ongoing basis as well as the feasibility of additional stops and have no current plans to extend the service.

(2) Numerous learnings were identified across all facets of the On Demand Ferry trial. These learnings included customer preferences, demand, product structure, operational delivery, and technology. Although customer satisfaction with the service was high, demand did not meet expected levels during the trial period.

(3) Transport for NSW regularly assesses demand for public transport services as part of planning activities. Opportunities for new or additional ferry services in the Pyrmont area will be considered against the availability of other public transport services operating in the area, including light rail and bus services, as well as future Metro services which will service the Bays Precinct and Pyrmont.

(4)&(5) Opportunities to introduce new or additional ferry services to the Fish Market, Pyrmont and Blackwattle Bay will be considered as part of future service planning.
