Unfortunately koalas are not the only animal threatened with extinction, however there is widespread community support for government to protect their habitat from land clearing. Rural land that covers 80 per cent of NSW is yet to be regulated, so there is time to call for the new codes to map koala habitat and populations, protect all koala habitat from further destruction and restore koala habitat and local populations.
