I welcome NSW government proposals to improve safety for food delivery riders, implementing the SafeWork taskforce report.

As well as a number of tragic deaths and injuries, I’ve heard ongoing complaints about unsafe riding and pressure to deliver faster, with boycott action over low pay and poor conditions, and followed this up with questions in Parliament: > HERE. 

The food delivery companies will have to provide safety equipment and induction training, with riders allocated identification and increased enforcement of road rules. Look out for consultation on the proposals in September. The taskforce report: > HERE.
