Saving Manyana
I joined more than 60 other leaders to sign an open letter calling on the state and federal governments to protect the Manyana Forest on the south coast.
Surrounding bushland was severely razed by the Black Summer bushfires and Manyana has become a vital refuge for recovering wildlife, supporting vulnerable and threatened species. But much of the forest is set to be cleared for a housing development. While the development was planned before the fires, the landscape has changed drastically since.
I have called for an independent scientific assessment of the state’s network of forests following the fires before large scale clearing proceeds. I encourage you to join the campaign: > HERE.
