State Budget

The big changes in the NSW Budget included funding to bring forward development of a new transmission network to connect new renewable power in Renewable Energy Zones, a new shared equity scheme to help some key workers and vulnerable people buy a home, the option for first home buyers to choose an annual land tax charge instead of paying stamp duty and an optional new year of school before kindy.

Some good wins for the inner city included money for the National Art School renewal and funding for Moore Park renewal. I worked with the Animal Justice Party to secure increased funding to the RSPCA and the Animal Welfare League, and money to stop Sydney Dogs & Cats Homes from closing. I also supported their successful call for funding for wombat mange research. With many of the funded programs not listed in the budget papers, I am still assessing what has been allocated.

Let's work together to celebrate and protect our great city!
