As the government focuses on increasing housing supply through more apartments, it must also invest in support for apartment owners who must navigate a complex administrative framework and escalating costs. The government has established a new Strata Commissioner, but the role is held by the already existing Property Commissioner with no new staff. In Parliament, I asked the government to properly resource the Strata Commissioner and provide funding to the Owners Corporation Network to support and educate strata communities.
